Books!

I can hear a voice in my head scoffing, but I’m going to ask this anyway: have you ever been in the process of reading a book (or two) for so long that once you’re done, you just feel…lost?

That is my problem currently.

I finally finished both “Where’d You Go, Bernadette?” and “Water for Elephants.” Following up either of those will be difficult, I imagine, because they were both absolutely amazing.

So, dear readers, what is on your nightstand right now? Or in your purse? Or in your hands? What are you reading that I should be reading?

  1. You just listed two books I love, especially Water for Elephants, which I’ve read twice. Gruen did such an amazing job with all the details. And I fell in love with every character. Have you read Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore? I just finished it, and it was sweet and funny and the best book for book lovers. 🙂

  2. Completely know how you feel. Which of those two books would you prefer over the other? I need to start a new book but cannot choose what to read first! I downloaded the sample of Water for Elephants, but haven’t read it yet.

    1. I’m going to say Water for Elephants. Though both are good, you are in the thick of the plot right from the start. WYGB takes a little bit of time, and given the composition of the story (emails, faxes, reports, etc)…I felt like I needed to really get into it before I had an idea of what the characters were dealing with. It’s great, but I’d say Water for Elephants was my preference of the two. Enjoy!
